Sell What You Love
Audio / Produced by The High CallingTranscript
Keith Lockhart conducts the Boston Pops. And as the successor of beloved conductors like Arthur Fiedler and John Williams, he knows something about patience. He has resisted the urge to remake the orchestra in his own image. Slowly, as his personality interacts with the group, he knows it will change to reflect his leadership.
Another facet of Lockhart's leadership is to spread his passion. "Part of my job is to proselytize," he says, "to sell people on this art form that I love."
This is Howard Butt, Jr., of Laity Lodge. Take a note from Maestro Lockhart: Patience and passion are instrumental ingredients for leadership . . . in the high calling of our daily work.
